The Research Analyst Professional Development Program is an intensive, competency-based training program developed to prepare professionals for successful careers in research, monitoring and evaluation, data analysis, policy development, academia, healthcare, development organizations, and corporate research environments. The program begins with a Prerequisite Module on Digital Literacy and Computer Applications, ensuring that participants have the foundational technology skills necessary for modern research work. Learners gain proficiency in computer systems, Microsoft Office applications, online research databases, digital collaboration platforms, and virtual communication tools. The core of the program focuses on building strong technical research competencies. Participants learn how to design scientifically rigorous studies, develop research concepts and proposals, conduct literature reviews and evidence synthesis, and implement ethical research practices. The curriculum provides hands-on experience with digital data collection platforms such as KoboToolbox, SurveyCTO, and ODK, enabling learners to coordinate field research efficiently and maintain high data quality standards. The program also develops advanced analytical skills through training in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies. Participants gain practical experience in data management, statistical analysis, thematic analysis, dashboard development, data visualization, and evidence interpretation using industry-standard tools including Excel, SPSS, R, Python, NVivo, Atlas.ti, Power BI, and Tableau. Learners are further equipped to prepare professional research reports, policy briefs, scientific manuscripts, and publications that meet international standards. Recognizing the growing importance of performance measurement and organizational learning, the program includes comprehensive training in Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL) frameworks, indicator development, evaluations, and performance monitoring systems. In addition to technical expertise, the program emphasizes the development of essential professional and workplace competencies. Participants strengthen their critical thinking, analytical reasoning, communication, documentation, leadership, teamwork, stakeholder engagement, time management, and professional ethics skills.
